There's a merry-go-round, Ferris wheel and carousel in Shakopee and not just at Valleyfair — it's at Winter Wonderland.

Winter Wonderland is a light spectacle at 921 Shakopee Ave. E., managed by four generations of a family including Paul Schmidt, Lavina Schmidt, Roger Schmidt, Matt Lehman, Rena Lehman, Dan Lehman, Ashley Lehman, Jacob Lehman, Katelyn Lehman, Butch Lehman and many helpers.

The family starts putting up the lights after Halloween and doesn't take them down until "the big thaw," Matt Lehman said. But from Dec. 15 to Christmas Eve, there are free candy canes, pictures with Santa, crafts, hot chocolate and more.

The family has been running the show for over 15 years and has welcomed a lot of visitors. They even have separate electric meters for all the lights.

"It's a good time for everybody," Matt Lehman said. "It's Christmas spirit, that's the most important thing."
