Shakopee is adding one more restaurant to its roster — Willy McCoy’s.
The restaurant and bar is named after Prohibition-era bootlegger William McCoy, who smuggled whiskey and liquor into the United States starting in 1920.
The location in Shakopee will be at Southbridge Crossing, near the Southbridge Crossing Cinema and Home Depot, Planning and Development Director Michael Kerski said.
Willy McCoy’s serves American food including burgers, flatbreads, steak, fish, wings and more.
The restaurant is a place “where you can watch the game, hang with your guys or gals and enjoy a good time,” according to the website.
Willy McCoy’s also has a bar with two-for-one drink specials and happy hour every Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. which features $1 off all drinks.
The company has six other locations in Albertville, Andover, Bloomington, Champlin, Chaska and Ramsey.
The Shakopee City Council approved the final plat of the land in August with a restaurant planned for the space. The hours of operation were also extended to 2 a.m. to support a bar.
