WHITE BEAR TOWNSHIP — Another building is heading to the Leibel Addition Industrial Park.

The White Bear Town Board approved the construction of an 18,900-square-foot office and warehouse building at 2320 Leibel St. during its Feb. 21 meeting. The parcel, owned by Capra Utilities Inc., is one of the last undeveloped lots in the industrial park.

Capra Utilities owns several lots in the park. The building will be for a current tenant that has outgrown its current space.

Township approval is pending approval from the Rice Creek Watershed District, which also has to look at the proposal.

“I listened to this as a liaison through the Planning Commission, so I’m comfortable with where we’re at,” said Supervisor Steve Ruzek.

The building will be similar in design to the other buildings in the area: a two-story, wood-framed structure with an asphalt shingle roof.

About 20 employees will use the building, which will have 17 parking stalls on each end. The proposal also met the town's landscaping requirements: 15 trees, 16 conifers, 7 ornamental trees and 72 shrubs are proposed.

In other action Feb. 21, the board:

• Approved a joint powers agreement with Ramsey County until 2020 for the GIS mapping system. The cost until 2019 is $1,100.

• Authorized an update to the 2013 local surface water management plan for around $34,000 with funding from the stormwater utility fund.

• Authorized Pearson Brothers to do the street sweeping in the fall and spring for $87 per hour per sweeper and a disposal fee of $35 per cubic yard. In the past, public works had done this with one staff member and it took three weeks. The cost is about $19,800.
