Shakopee City Hall was awash in blue on Thursday afternoon.

More than 30 volunteers for Super Bowl 52 donned their Super Bowl 52 crew — jackets and purple hats and gloves — from Shakopee and around Scott County gathered to take a photo and hear remarks from Shakopee Mayor Bill Mars and County Commissioner Mike Beard.

“We are going to give all the folks that come for the Super Bowl and other events a nice ‘Minnesota Nice,’ ” Mars said. “This is a great opportunity for the Bold North.”

Volunteers from around Scott County will join 10,000 others when the Super Bowl is at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis the first weekend of February.

“This is what Scott County is about at the very heart,” Beard said.
