A 19-year-old Bloomington man has been charged with first-degree robbery in connection with the theft of $450 in cash from a juvenile victim at The Ponds Park in Prior Lake on Tuesday.
Krystian Toliver was arrested in connection with the theft on Tuesday. Two other suspects were arrested but have not been charged as of late Wednesday morning.
“They may have not known what was taking place,” Interim Prior Lake Police Chief Booker Hodges said.
Hodges said the 17-year-old victim met up with the suspects at the Dairy Queen off of Highway 13 before allegedly getting into a vehicle with Toliver to drive to The Ponds Park to buy a gun.
Police say Toliver then pulled out a gun and stole $450 in cash from the victim before running back to Dairy Queen to get in the vehicle with the other two suspects.
The Prior Lake Police Department, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call and found the suspects’ vehicle at the Dairy Queen. The three suspects were then taken into custody.
The eastbound lane of Highway 13 was briefly shut down on Tuesday afternoon as police took the suspects into custody. The lane reopened after the suspects’ vehicle was towed. The investigation continues.
