A Prior Lake High School graduate and wrestler was found dead in his dorm room on Wednesday at Northern State University in South Dakota, the school announced in a Facebook post.
Curtis LeMair was a freshman at the school and on the wrestling team. He also wrestled for the Prior Lake High School team, becoming a three-time Minnesota state medalist and a two-time Fargo All-American in high school, according to a video the Northern State University wrestling team posted on Twitter when LeMair joined the team.
“Police have informed NSU there doesn’t appear to be any foul play,” Northern State University wrote. The Aberdeen Police Department in South Dakota is investigating the death, according to the post.
“President Downs asks that the public keep the family, friends and teammates of the student in their thoughts and prayers,” the college wrote on Facebook.
In March 2017, LeMair came in third at the Class 3A Minnesota individual tournament, finishing the season with a 39-4 overall record. LeMair came in third at the state tournament as a sophomore and fifth as a junior.
In three seasons, he had a record of 106-20. He was a five-time letter winner for the Lakers.
