Lakeville man dead after crash in Prior Lake

A Lakeville man died in a car crash Thursday afternoon on Highway 13 at 150th Street in Prior Lake.

Around 4:45 p.m., Andre Rory Caine, 36, was driving a motorcycle southbound on Highway 13. Prior Lake resident Benjamin Jacob Provost, 18, was driving a Ford truck north bound and turned left on a flashing yellow signal. Caine then struck the passenger side of the truck, according to the Minnesota State Patrol report.

The Prior Lake Police Department, the Savage Police Department, the Savage Fire Department and an Allina ambulance responded to the accident. Despite life-saving attempts, Caine died at the scene, according to a Prior Lake Police Department news release.

Provost was not injured in the accident. Caine was not wearing a helmet. Alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the report.

The case is still under investigation and is being handled by the Minnesota State Patrol.
