Columbia police seek suspects in attempted robbery on West Worley Street

COLUMBIA — Columbia police officers are looking for multiple suspects after reports of an armed robbery with shots fired at 10 p.m. Sunday at the 300 block of West Worley Street.
According to a police news release, a 17-year-old victim from Columbia said he dropped a friend off at a house when four males approached his car and demanded money. At least three of the men had handguns and demanded money, according to the release. When the victim refused, he was pistol whipped by two of the suspects, and he ran into the house.
The suspects then ran to the back of the residence and fired multiple shots, according to the release, before the victim and the friend left in the victim's vehicle. No one was injured.
There is currently no suspect information and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information can call the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers at 875-8477.
