Just two more weeks and Prior Lake High School graduate Becca Kufrin can reveal who she has been engaged to since filming of ABC’s “The Bachelorette” ended.
But before then, it’s time for overnight dates in Thailand with three men left — Garrett, Blake and Jason.
For those uninitiated to “Bachelor Nation,” overnight dates are held when there are three contestants left. After a date, the contestant is either sent home or offered a night in the “fantasy suite” with the lead, away from the cameras.
Kufrin says she is in love with two of the contestants and falling in love with one of them, which doesn’t bode well for that third one.
From here on out, there is only one kind of date and that is the regular kind where one person goes out with another person.
Blake and Kufrin hike a trail to a temple, which is considered sacred ground and so they are not allowed to kiss or touch, which they act like that’s equivalent to the Twelve Labors of Hercules or something.
They meet a monk in the temple, who tells them that changing, being honest, being patient and giving are the keys to a happy household.
At dinner, Blake once again forgets what show he is on and tells Kufrin that he is concerned she has feelings for other men.
“I can’t really ignore that any more,” Blake said.
Kufrin tells Blake he’s been the most consistent relationship. Kufrin offers the option of the fantasy suite to Blake, which he accepts.
“He makes me feel things I’ve never felt in any other relationship,” Kufrin said. “I’m ready to spend the night with Blake.”
After Blake and Kufrin spend the night together, she goes on a date with Jason. Jason and Kufrin wander around Thailand, which includes eating crickets.
“Nice and smoky flavor,” Kufrin said. “A little crispy.”
As they walk out of one of the temples, Kufrin made a comment about a future home which she then said she immediately wished she could take back.
“I don’t know if I can picture it,” Kufrin said. “I feel like something’s wrong because I’m having the best time with him. I don’t know, it just feels weird.”
Kufrin says she owes it to Jason to try and get the relationship back on track with dinner in the evening. Jason said he sees their future for sure. He sees them together for sure. He loves her for sure.
He says “for sure” a lot.
After a break away from the conversation, Kufrin tells Jason she can’t see a future with him as much as she can with Garrett and Blake and that she’s unable to fully explain why that is.
“I came into this rooting for you happiness and I’ll always be rooting for your happiness, so I hope you find it,” Jason said.
Kufrin goes back to what would have been the fantasy suite that she and Jason would have shared and cries while comparing herself to former bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr., who had proposed to Kufrin and then broke it off to pursue runner-up Lauren Burnham.
There are a few differences between the situation, but sure.
“He did not see that coming and he was so confused,” Kufrin said. “I couldn’t go through an overnight with him if I know it’s not him at the end.”
Though Kufrin is still upset about Jason the next day, she said she does not want that to ruin her date with Garrett.
Garrett and Kufrin then head down a river on bamboo rafts. At first they were alone but it was a Thai holiday and everybody was out on the river.
During a break later on, Garrett tells Kufrin that he’s gotten better at communicating. They go to dinner later on and Garrett said he was afraid of being engaged and it not working out.
Kufrin asks Garrett what he sees as their future and Garrett says that his job can go anywhere and that he can go anywhere if it supports Kufrin’s career.
“If that supports your dreams and goals what you want after, I’d definitely be willing to meet somewhere in the middle,” Garrett said.
Garrett tells Kufrin that he loves her and she offers him the fantasy suite card, which he accepts. Garrett and Kufrin spend the night in a treehouse, which is unequivocally cooler than the regular hotel room Blake and Kufrin had.
“When I look at Garrett, I see my heart’s equal,” Kufrin said, which sounds like a greeting card.
Later on, Jason surprises Kufrin for a relationship post mortem conversation at her hotel, which according to “The Office” is digging into a relationship and seeing what killed it.
But, they essentially say the same things they said the night before, but Jason gives her a scrapbook of their time together.
For some reason, there is still a rose ceremony with two roses and two men left.
Kufrin tells show host Chris Harrison, that she is in love with both of them but hasn’t told them.
In a shocking twist that no one could have seen coming, both Garrett and Blake receive a rose to move on to the final week in the Maldives, which will be aired in two weeks.
Next week will be the “Men Tell All” episode, where all the eliminated men get together to chat about the drama of the entire season.
