11 candidates file for school board, 4 for city council elections

The end of primaries marks the beginning of local races for Prior Lake.


Filing closed on Tuesday to run in local races.


Two seats on the Prior Lake City Council and four seats on the Prior Lake-Savage Area School Board will be on the ballot for the general election in November.


Candidates are listed as they appear on the Minnesota Secretary of State website.


There are two open seats on the Prior Lake City Council this year. The terms of Annette Thompson and Mike McGuire expire in December. Annette Thompson filed for re-election while McGuire did not.


Four candidates filed to run for the two open seats on the council.

Four seats will be open on the Prior Lake-Savage Area School Board, as the terms of school board members Richard Wolf, Stacey Ruelle, Ben Hanson and Todd Sorensen will expire this year.


Eleven candidates have filed to run for the four open seats on the school board.
